Manufacturers are working all the time to improve plasma TV problems. A Plasma TV is a very sophisticated machine. Many times plasma TV problems begin with the consumer not knowing enough about their TV and how it works. Plasma televisions are as complex as a computer and if you don’t use it correctly you can have all kinds of plasma TV problems.

• Plasma TV problem #1 – Very few read the owner’s manual. Our first recommendation is read the owner’s manual. I know it’s not the most riveting information but it could save you quite a bit of money in the long run. Plasma TV problems can be avoided by using common sense and taking good care of the equipment.
• Plasma TV problem #2 – High altitude. Here is one plasma TV problem most people would not think about. Plasma TV’s are made with inert gases and if you live in a high altitude (over 6,000 ft) you will have a major plasma TV problem because most likely the television will not work at all. In this case a LCD TV may suite you better.
• Plasma TV problem #3 – Heat & High Energy usage. Heat is another plasma TV problem. Plasma TVs generate a great deal of heat so much so that manufactures are putting fans in the televisions to help keep them cool.
• Plasma TV problem #4 - The fans can be loud so you could have a problem with you plasma TV either way.
• Plasma TV problem #5 – Wall mounting.  Plasma TV problems stem from do it yourselfers trying to hang their own television. You don’t just tap in a hefty nail and hang it on the wall like a picture frame. Plasma TVs aren’t that light …yet.  Although the sleek frames give the illusion it is that simple you must use a mounting bracket that fits your particular plasma TV. You may want to have a professional install the wall mounted flat screen plasma just to be safe.
• Plasma TV problem #6 – Location of plasma TV.  Just as in real estate location, location, location can determine if you have other plasma TV problems. Remember a plasma TV can get hot. The manufacture has recommendations as to how close you should put your plasma television to a heat source, moisture source, etc.
• Plasma TV problem #7 – Burn in and ghosting.  There is a well known plasma TV problem called “burn in”. Burn in is when your plasma TV is left on the same picture for long periods of time or when a static image is left on the screen for too long. Mostly this happens with TV logos or when a show is paused. This particular plasma TV problem is improving with new technology and techniques. One such technique is having the static images shimmy just slightly on the screen to prevent burn in. The naked eye cannot even detect that the image is moving.
• Plasma TV problem #8 – High energy usage.  For green conscious consumers this could be a make it or break it deal. The industry is improving this particular plasma TV problem however it is something to keep in mind.
• Plasma TV problem #9 – Who to fix it when it breaks.  If you have an actual plasma TV problem that needs technical servicing you can do a couple of different things. Call the manufacturer; contact the store you purchased your plasma TV from, most likely either one of these will direct you to a local company that specializes in repairing plasma televisions. Be sure to choose someone who has been trained & certified by the manufacturer to repair their plasma televisions. You don’t want an amateur tweaking your plasma TV. Repairing a plasma TV will not be cheap but neither is replacing one because the wrong person worked on it.

Plasma TV problems can be avoided by using common sense and taking good care of the equipment.
