When doing the research for this article I was amazed at just how many plasma TV stands are available. There are thousands of Plasma TV Stands to choose from.

Some of the most popular plasma TV stands are corner stands. These fit nicely into the corner of any room for best viewing angle and space savings. Contemporary and modern plasma TV stands are very HOT right now.  They match the look and feel of the plasma TV itself. Most contemporary stands are made of glass, chrome, or stainless steel.  Many people like to stick with traditional style entertainment centers while some opt for glass entertainment centers.  Plasma TV stands come in all shapes, sizes and colors.  Before buying the coolest looking one available make sure the plasma TV stand you choose fits all your needs.

Plasma TV Stand Problems

Along with all the cool stands to choose from come issues you need to contend with.  One of the biggest complaints about plasma TV stands especially the ones that come already attached to the TV is that people have a very difficult time getting it off so the TV can be wall mounted or placed on another style of stand.  Check your owner’s manual for the “How to remove plasma TV stand” section.

The problems with many of these popular plasma TV stands are that they are top heavy.  This can be problematic on so many levels.  If a pet or child bumps into it or pulls on the TV, and parents we know how kids like to play with the buttons on the TV, it can fall and cause serious injury and even death.

Another problem I noticed were plasma TV stands that looked as if they would fall over if someone in the room breathed too hard.  I don’t know about you but I don’t want to spend thousands of dollars on a high tech plasma TV just to have the stand fall over and the TV break.  I would guess that falling or dropping it is not covered in any warranty. 

Remember that when ordering your new plasma TV stand that one size does NOT fit all!!  You need to make sure that the stand not only fits your TV but that it includes all of the accessories you will need to make your stand work with your flat screen TV.  You may need to order more nuts, bolts, screws and mounting brackets to put your plasma TV stand puzzle together.  Plasma TV stand assembly can be tricky also.  Make sure you read all the instructions.  You don’t want it to collapse with your thousand dollar TV on top. 

One last thing to consider is what about all those high tech gaming and DVD players attached to your plasma TV?  You want to make sure that your plasma TV stand will accommodate all the wires that go along with your systems.  Glass plasma TV stands may not be the best choice if you have a lot of cords to hide.  However devises such as wireless DVD players may make it more appealing.
