Refurbished LCD TV

The word “refurbished” scares most consumers especially when it comes to the world of electronics.  However in this day and age it can be a blessing in many ways.  Refurbished LCD TVs are not only a good thing for the environment but they are a good thing for your wallet too.  Most refurbished LCD TVs sell for 20% - 30% below the price of the same retail model.

There are a few things to keep in mind when purchasing a refurbished LCD TV.  Make sure your LCD TV was refurbished through a factory facility or factor-authorized third party facility.  Refurbished LCD TVs are put through a series of diagnostic tests for 48 – 72 hours.  Any repairs needed are completed, factory specs are reset and the “like new” refurbished LCD TV is repackaged and shipped to a Master Distributor.  Master Distributors in turn sell the refurbished televisions to sales contacts who then sell them to the public.  Electronics are to be restored to “like new” condition when they bare the mark “refurbished”.  That is the industry standard followed by factory refurbishing facilities.

Refurbished LCD TVs should come with a 45 - 90 day manufacturer’s warranty if it is factory refurbished.  This gives the buyer added confidence that their refurbished LCD TV is as good as new.  You can also get up to a 3 year extended warranty with your refurbished LCD TV if you want that added protection.

Many times refurbished TVs have never even been used.  They can originate from retail customer returns, manufacturers over stock, scratch and dent, open box, any number of places.  They will still be processed through the refurbishing facility for diagnostic testing and repair if needed before being offered to the public.

The ironic thing is that your refurbished LCD TV may be in better shape than some of the new ones coming off the shelves and at a much better price.  We would highly recommend factory refurbished LCD TVs to anyone in the market to save some money and buy a quality product.
